The company behind Infobip started in the Croatian town of Vodnjan in 2006; its founders are Silvio Kutić, Roberto Kutić and Izabel Jelenić. What began as a pure SMS offer became a broader communications platform covering messaging, voice and chatbots. In 2020 One Equity Partners invested 200 million US dollars, making Infobip the first Croatian unicorn.
Developers reach the service through an SMS API with SDKs, for instance for Node.js. WhatsApp, Viber, RCS and telephony run on the same platform, for example for login codes or customer notifications.
