About Melious

Melious is based in Saarbrücken and acts as an intermediary to over 60 open-weight models. It is addressed through a single interface that works with the OpenAI and Anthropic software libraries. Requests go to compute providers in eight European countries, and if one drops out the gateway switches to the next on its own. The routing flavour (balanced, speed, price, eco or batch) is selected by a suffix in the model name. Besides text models there are embeddings, image generation and speech models, plus a chat with web search and code execution. A free entry option is provided.
