About NetBird

NetBird stretches encrypted private networks across computers, servers, containers and subnets. Its agents rely on WireGuard and, where possible, set up a direct peer-to-peer link; if that fails, an encrypted relay takes over. In a central console, administrators define groups, routes, DNS settings and access rules, with SSO and MFA on top. The open-source product is backed by NetBird GmbH in Berlin, with offices in the Netherlands. It can be booked as a cloud service or run in-house, and a free offering exists. Depending on need it replaces Tailscale, ZeroTier or OpenVPN.
