About PLLUM

PLLuM stands for Polish Large Language Model and is an initiative from Poland with the aim of creating an open Polish language model. Large language models are mostly developed by American corporations and are strongest in English; a model of its own is meant to represent the Polish language and culture better. The project is aimed at public bodies, research and companies that want to build AI applications in Polish. PLLuM is named as an alternative to ChatGPT, though the emphasis is on an open model developed in the country.
